These grooves correspond to 2 protrusions in the milk container that are the same size.

⚠️ Be careful not to insert the powdered milk container incorrectly.

The hole of the powdered milk container should be facing the hole of the appliance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the device to prepare liquids other than powdered infant formula?

No, the device is designed exclusively for preparing powdered infant formula.

Can the prepared milk be stored in the baby bottle?

No, it is recommended to consume the milk within one hour of preparation.

What should I do if powdered milk sticks or builds up inside the container?

The container is made with antistatic materials, making it unlikely for milk powder to stick to the walls. However, some types of powdered milk are particularly fatty and may still adhere to the surfaces. In such cases, wash the container with warm water and soap after each use.

How long does the device take to heat up before preparation?

The device does not require any heating time before use — it is ready for immediate operation.

Is it necessary to completely dry the milk container before filling it?

Yes, the container should be completely dried to prevent powdered milk from sticking to the walls.

What should I do if the device is leaking water?

Check that the water tank is positioned correctly and does not exceed the MAX fill level.

Frequently Asked Questions

If the device is not working and the screen does not turn on, it may not be plugged in or the power button may be turned off.
Plug in the device, press the power button, and make sure the power supply matches the voltage required by the device.

The buttons are not responding

If the buttons are not responding, the possible causes may be:

The screen is in standby mode: press the power button to resolve the issue.

The “water refill” indicator is red: add water to the tank to resolve the issue.

There is not enough water in the tank: add water to the tank to resolve the issue.

The water tank is incorrectly positioned: install the water tank properly to resolve the issue.

The “funnel out” indicator is red: reposition the funnel and make sure it is fully inserted to resolve the issue.

The funnel is incorrectly positioned or missing: reposition the funnel and ensure it is fully inserted to resolve the issue.

The powdered milk container is incorrectly installed: install the powdered milk container correctly according to the instructions to resolve the issue.

If only the “milk” button is unresponsive, the appliance needs to be cleaned: fill the tank with water and press the “water only” button to flush the system. The “milk” button will turn white to indicate that it is working again.

The device turns off during operation

If the device turns off during operation, the possible causes may be:

There is not enough water during preparation: add water to the tank to resolve the issue.

A part became detached during preparation: check that the powdered milk container, the dosing wheel, and the powder stop block are correctly positioned. Make sure the water tank and funnel are properly installed.

During preparation, the temperature in the system exceeds the programmed value: press the “water only” button to flush water through the circuit and wait a few minutes.

The device dispenses too much powdered milk

If the device dispenses too much powdered milk, the possible causes may be:

The powder stop block is not correctly installed: make sure the stop block is securely positioned under the notches at both ends of the powdered milk container and that the silicone part is correctly placed to resolve the issue.

The powdered milk setting number is incorrect: choose the correct setting based on the brand and type of powdered milk, following the indications in the table.

The powdered milk level in the container is too low: add more powdered milk to the container.

Powder is stuck to the funnel walls: clean the funnel and install it only when it is completely dry.

The water is not flowing

If the water is not flowing, the water tank may be improperly installed or the water level may be too low (the “water refill” indicator is red).

Check the positioning of the water tank and fill it to resolve the issue.

Build-up of powdered milk on the funnel lid and the bottom of the powder container

If you notice a build-up of powdered milk on the funnel lid and the bottom of the powder container, it means the device has been used frequently without cleaning and drying the funnel. The “funnel cleaning” indicator is red.

Clean the funnel and its lid thoroughly and dry every part completely to resolve the issue.
Wipe the opening of the powder container with a dry cloth to resolve the issue.

The temperature in the bottle does not match the programmed °C setting

Make sure to fill the tank with water at room temperature (between 20°C and 25°C) for optimal use of the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Lattespresso represents a practical and safe solution for most families, namely for newborns and healthy children, for whom the microbiological risk from powdered milk is very low, if not rare, and for whom following the instructions on the packaging, along with good hygiene practices during bottle preparation, is sufficient to ensure a high level of safety.

DISCOVER MORE

Procedure recommended by the WHO for preparing a bottle with powdered milk:

1. Boil water at 100°C
2. Let it cool down to a temperature of 70°C
3. Add the powdered milk
4. After preparation, quickly cool the milk under a stream of cold running water until it reaches 37°C to prevent any remaining bacteria in the powdered milk from multiplying.

It is important to note that the WHO recommends using water ≥70°C to neutralize potential bacteria in powdered milk, especially for high-risk infants (premature, immunocompromised, infants in their first 2 months of life).
For healthy infants over 2 months old, the risk is greatly reduced if good hygiene practices are followed and the milk is consumed immediately.

Furthermore, many brands of powdered milk, according to the instructions on the packaging, recommend the use of lukewarm water or < 50°C. The 70°C indication only applies to a small number of brands and only to stage 1 milk, which is intended for very young babies. Below is a table with the instructions as indicated on the packaging of the most well-known and widespread brands of powdered milk on the Italian market:

Special feeding for at-risk infants

In many cases, for at-risk infants, such as those born prematurely, immunocompromised, or with medical conditions, pediatricians prescribe the use of pre-sterilized liquid medical-grade formula. In such cases, Lattespresso is not suitable.

What are the hygiene and safety advantages of Lattespresso compared to manual bottle preparation?

Lattespresso offers two main advantages over manual bottle preparation:

1. Fewer manual steps = lower risk of contamination

Being a closed system, Lattespresso prevents direct contact with the water and the formula during preparation, drastically reducing the risk of manual contamination. It avoids contact with spoons, work surfaces, hands, or objects that may not be perfectly clean and could carry germs and bacteria.

2. Immediate preparation and consumption = less bacterial growth

With Lattespresso, the milk is prepared and served immediately, avoiding the microbiological risk linked to the critical cooling or reheating steps typical of manual preparation. It minimizes the time between preparation and consumption and avoids the bacterial proliferation zone (7°C – 65°C), as recommended by the WHO.

Are there instant bottle makers that reach 70°C?

No, there are no fully automatic bottle makers on the market that dispense water at temperatures higher than 50°C. In conclusion, Lattespresso is designed to offer maximum hygiene and speed, drastically reducing the risks associated with milk preparation. Its effectiveness in terms of safety is based on:

• prevention of contamination
• reduction of waiting times
• automation of the process.

For healthy children, it represents a practical and safe solution. We clarify that the information provided aims to offer a clear and complete overview and in no way replaces the advice of a pediatrician, especially in the case of at-risk children.

INFORMATION ABOUT SPECIAL MILKS

Lattespresso, like all automatic infant formula makers, is not suitable for processing special medical milks prescribed by the pediatrician to address important issues such as intolerances, allergies, colic, constipation, gastroesophageal reflux, prematurity, and low birth weight.

These formulas have a composition with a higher fat percentage than regular infant formulas and risk forming clumps with dosing inaccuracies.

If your baby needs to be fed special milk for a period of time, manual preparation of the bottle with a measuring scoop is recommended.
